Less than 1 Year

No Gratuity

Employee must complete at least 1 year of service

Example: 8 months service = No gratuity

1-5 Years

21 Days Per Year

21 days of basic salary for each year of service

Example: 3 years × 21 days = 63 days basic salary

More than 5 Years

30 Days Per Year

21 days for first 5 years + 30 days for each additional year

Example: 7 years = (5 × 21) + (2 × 30) = 165 days basic salary

Maximum Cap

2 Years Salary

Gratuity cannot exceed 2 years of basic salary

Example: Even if calculated gratuity is higher, cap applies
